A veteran leader at Steinitz, he specialises in youth development and coaching for focus challenges. A 2013 Community Builder Award winner, Andrew remains a vital figure in Western Province chess administration and mentorship
RM Ethan Samuels
Ethan Samuels is a tactical young player and coach known for his steady positional play. A frequent representative of his club and province, Ethan balances his competitive career with a passion for mentoring. He focuses on building confidence and creativity in his students, inspiring Cape Town’s next generation.
CM Kenneth Willenberg
Candidate Master Kenny Willenberg is one of South Africa’s elite players and a dedicated coach. A former National U20 Champion, Kenny founded the Curro Cup and recently led his Reddam U9 team to a dominant national victory. He continues to inspire and shape top talent as a national youth preparation coach.
CM Paul Khuphwathea
Paul Khuphwathea is a Candidate Master and two-time Olympiad representative for Malawi. A FIDE Developmental Instructor, he now coaches full-time at United Herzlia and the German International School. Paul uses his international experience to inspire students, build confidence and help them improve.
